Talked about data recovery and how to recover files that are deleted. Normally, when you delete a file
under Unix it is very hard to recover the file. However, if the file is stored on specific filesystems the file
could be recovered.
Here is a short list of good applications that help restore deleted and corrupted files:
Get Data Back for NTFS and Fat32
On the ext2 filesystem there are a few application to recover files:
recover – Undelete files on ext2 partitions
e2undel – Undelete utility for the ext2 file system
Someone mentioned a Linux Satilite reciever as one of the cheapest and best on market:
Linux Satilite Reciever.
There was a discussion about the new 802.11n wireless protocol. It appears Linksys and Buffalo both have
wireless routers out that support this new protocol. The protocol allows for more data and longer range of wireless signals to bombard the airwaves.
There was short dialog about the differnt bootable cd’s out there. Live cd’s are now designed for a number of different applications. There are a ton of bootable Linux CD’s that can be used. Here is a list of the most of the known bootable cd’s.
There was a little demo of parallels, a Correl application, that allows Mac (Intel) users to run Windows on Mac OS X.

Nick helped setup a wireless card one person who brought one in.
Someone mentioned wireless for free devices.
Tunneling data through ICMP was mentioned. However, doing so requires 2 machines. One to act as a proxy server and one as a client.
