We had about 10 people show up for the meeting.<br \/>\nAt the meeting topics ranged from Hacking a laundry machine to getting training. As for training, Brad mentioned he took a $50 course through <a href=\"http:\/\/training.pistoncloud.com\/\" title=\"open stack training\">Piston<\/a>. He said the training was ok, but the software tools they provided were more valuable than the course. Brad has been messing with Open Stack and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gnu.org\/software\/parallel\/\" title=\"gnu parallel\">GNU Parallels<\/a>. Parallels he mentioned lets him backup his SQL tables all simultaneously. In compared to a linear backup script, Parallels spawns forks that process data fasters than a single process. On the learning side, Unallocated Space was mentioned.
