This LUG meeting met at Barnes and Nobles. We had about 10 people show up for the meeting.
At the meeting topics ranged from Hacking a laundry machine to getting training. As for training, Brad mentioned he took a $50 course through Piston. He said the training was ok, but the software tools they provided were more valuable than the course. Brad has been messing with Open Stack and GNU Parallels. Parallels he mentioned lets him backup his SQL tables all simultaneously. In compared to a linear backup script, Parallels spawns forks that process data fasters than a single process. On the learning side, Unallocated Space was mentioned. Unallocated space is providing study groups for people wanting to get pertifications. More information can be found here.
